Can straightening your hair make it curly???

This is so bizarre! I swear my hair HATES me! I have straightened it for years and years and its always been naturally really curly. So a few months ago I got a new cut for curly hair. Now it won't curl!!! I'm not kidding, it's practically stick straight. There is one exception....my bangs are still curly, but that's the only part I want to be straight! WTF?!?

You can't fight Mother Nature...your curl is hanging out in your bangs, but there is probably a logical reason. I have curly hair, and typically I have it texturized or thinned when I have it cut. Sometimes, if the back/sides of your hair have been super texturized/thinned, it can cause your hair to be straighter.

More than likely, the hairdresser did not overly texturize your bangs, to ensure they weren't cut too short. As a result, with less texturizing your bangs are still fuller and will be curly.

Does that make sense? Did you have the rest of your hair texturized/thinned?

Just keep using a flat iron and a great straightening product on your bangs to keep them straight. (Tigi Control Freak Super Straight spray)

What kind of haircut did you get? I need one that makes my hair straight to!

same thing happend to my friends straightened way to much to the point where it's just straight. nothing you can do but grow out your hair till it's curly again.

Straightening your hair doesn't make it curly, your natural hair is curly. You can continue to straighten it, but don't get another new cut for curly hair again. You may try going to another hair dresser, and specially ask for straightening for your bangs. I'm not too sure if there's something they can do to make bangs straight but no harm trying. Good luck!
