Best conditioner for curly and frizzy hair?

Okay, well I've tried basically every conditioner and shampoo that supposedly tames wavy/curly hair and nothing has worked. I've dyed my hair three times which has really dried it out and changed the texture. My hair is about an inch or two past my shoulders and I'm planning to grow it out to about halfway down my back but first it needs to be in a healthy condition. My hair isn't like ringlets but it's curly and frizzy and poofy. I really need something to moisturize and tame my curls. Thanks so much :]

Try a Cholesterol. It is a thick conditioner in a jar; you can find it at Walmart or Sally's for about $2.50. Then put a warming cap on (similar to the dryers at the salon - the one I have is soft cap and heats instead of blowing hot air though). You can get one at Sally beauty supply for about $25. The heat really helps the conditioner penetrate your hair and improve it's condition.

Try to do this once a week. You should notice a difference after the first use.

i have the same hair and length and i use Sunsilk for curls and its in a green bottle and it really mosturizes my hair which really helps control frizz..that and hydrating shampoo and conditioner by herbal essances in a turqouise bottle and it smells awesome.

OMG, my hair is like that! but i just got it cut so when it gets crazy enough it looks like an affro!! haha, but i use suave, X5 slick look, thats what it says on the bottle lol.

OH MY GOD.......I used to have the EXACT same problem as you. My hair used to be dry,tangled, frizzy, poofy, but thank god some one created Pantene shampoos and conditioner. This product will make your hair lush, shiny, soft......and whatever you could possibly need it to be. As long as you keep using it, your hair will be healthy and gorgeous.....trust me...it really works.

I have straight hair but if I don't blow it out than it gets sort of wavy/frizzy. I started using "Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship" shampoo and conditioner and would never use anything else. It has something in the formula that makes the hair light and smooth, you can even feel a difference when you are shampooing. Blowing my hair out has never been easier and it just does everything I want it to. It is made especially for people who are growing their hair out and protects against drying and split ends. I would definitely give this stuff a try.

My hair is just the same and I too have dyed it a couple times which had left it dry. If you use the Garnier Fructis Styling System it helps a LOT. After using the shampoo and conditioner if you put the leave in conditioner it leaves your frizz tamed and your curls will be much softer. Also theres a curl softener from Garnier Fructis thats good to use with this too. Just get Garnier Fructis curl and shine and your hair should be under control.

No matter what any one else tells you the brand is redkin - go for the protein bottles which are a dark blue... it retails in australia for about $21-23 dollars per bottle - get the shampoo and conditioner....

i know this as growing up i ALWAYS had frizzy hair and i have tried almost every shampoo and conditioner you could imagine - i had to have my hair bleached twice in a row (due to some jerk dying it black by accident) and my hair was an absolute mess, you could see how burnt and frizzy it was even after the cut and even after straightning it....

i used redkin 3 times a week for 2 weeks and my hair was no word of a lie - almost like new - lol i should become a saled rep for them!!! my hairdresser also swears by it...

its expensive, but fantastic for your hair!! there is also a redkin treatment for "soft and smooth" hair - it comes in a tub thats a goldy sort of colour... definatly worth the price...

I think Aveda makes the best products. They have some Aveda stores, and some salons sell Aveda only. Or...you can probably order online. Anyway, they have the best leave in conditioners and they also have a great "correction" conditioner treatment that is supposed to correct dry damaged hair. You wash your hair with shampoo, rinse it out and then leave this corrective conditioner in your hair for 5 minutes, then rinse out. Use every three shampoos. Or you can use this leave in conditioner every week. It really helps. Also, they make a great smoothing lotion for your hair. You can put it in while your hair is dry and it makes it smooth and shiny. "Be Curly" Is a good product to keep your hair curly, but soft at the same time. Also, before you blow dry your hair, spray a heat protective spray in it. It will prevent damage to your hair from the heat. Good luck.

Here's the secret...

Before you get out of the shower and turn the water off you first have to:

1. Turn the water on cold and rinse your hair with cold water to close the cuticles. Opened cuticles are the start of frizzy hair.

2. While your hair is soaking wet. Put in 2 quarters worth of "Dare2Be" Glued styling gel. It's in a yellow tube and can be found at Walmart. Do NOT use your fingers to separate your hair like a pick. Separate sections of hair while wet and put in the gel.

3. Start scrunching your curls like no tomorrow while your hair is SOAKING wet. If the excess water is flowing through your fingers, you are on your way! The excess water running through your hair will help the gel get to every strand.

4. Towel dry your hair. If you must use a hair dryer make sure to use a diffuser.

5. Don't wash your hair everyday.

I can go three days with out washing my hair and no one can tell the difference.
