I'm a biracial female that has had extremely curly hair for my entire life. After a home hair cut gone awry, I had to have my head shaved. Since it's been growing back, I've noticed it's no longer curly, but straight. I imagine as it continues to grow it will become wavier, but that's still a big difference from what it was. Did my head-shaving cause this? I also recently started taking a coupel different medications...can chemicals alter your hair as well?

Well from a friend who had a personal experience said that her mom said that as you get older your hair will change and so will the rest of you even if you have already "grown up" your hair may still change i may b young but i know things and this will or may keep happening until it finds the right one that suits you and your body.!!!- Hope i helped!!!!!!-lilly

as you grow older, your hair responds to hormonal changes in your body. so the dramatic change from curly to straight can be the couse of that. also, if you are pregnant, the hormones change your hair type but most medications have no effect on your hair.

My 4 yr old son (who is also biracial) had very curyly hair too, like really tight curls, and when he turned 3 my husband cut it short and now it's nothing like it used to be. My two yr old has never had his cut and it's really curly and a different texture than his. You could go to a salon and get a spiral perm if you want the curl back right now. I also know that certain medications do have an affect on how your hair grows it can also thin your hair too. you could research the medication you're taking and see if that is a possible side effect. I hope you figure something out soon. Good luck
