straightening is not a problem. wat u need is good mousse and cream. Frizz-Ease is amazing for tat type of hair.

plus, wen u go to a hairdresser always tell her to "thin" ur hair..this mega reduces frizz. i hardly have any frizz and i come from a 97% humidity country :(

I also have naturally curly hair---but it is not coarse--it is soft, so i am lucky there. But I do know what you mean about Humidity. I choose NOT to straighten my hair--but rather I smooth is out after washing--which I only do once a week as per my stylist. Plus, I am blond..and it is not oily. So in between I use a little baby powder to freshen it up. My stylist told me that Pantene Products have the most wax content in them---so they help hold (people with curly and/ or LOTS of hair) down. After I wash and condition it, I let the conditioner stay on while while I shave...etc... Then before I get out of shower, I re-apply more conditioner to ends and leave it in. Then wrap hair in towel and let it dry as long as possible. Prior to using a COOL (temp) blow dryer, I put some John Frieda Freeze-Ease gel on ends and leave in (in towel). Then I do other things and when I am ready...I gently comb with a large tooth comb and use dryer on COOL setting and really I use my fingers to smooth out. I smooth out the top and sides and top of back....and let it dry. The I use large Con Air ion shine HOT ROLLERS (when hair is completely dry)....it sounds like a lot of time....BUT not at all. The my hair is smooth, soft and good to go for an entire week. My hair's best friend is a very large barrel curling iron I also use to smooth hair out, i.e, long wispy bangs, side pieces....as I usually wear it up. It's pretty long, as well.

Remember the more you straighten your hair---the more lasting damage you incur....I do not like MY hair too straight. I know many women do---I choose NOT to. Good luck. You may also try like oil treatments on damp hair once a week or a product called (Swear-to-God) Cholesterol....It really works. Best rule of thumb: Always protect hair with something (product) before you shoot with anything hot, iron, dryer, etc.

Ion shine is important to look for in any heating product, be it iron, straightener, etc. It does make a BIG difference.

Happy Hair Day :)

Hello i used to also expierence the same problems. I have started to use sunsilk striaghten up shampoo and conditioner ( its in the purple bottle) and its no more than 3 dollars a bottle. then i usae the 24/7 creme they make that goes along with the shampoo, FIrst i wash my hair with the shampoo and conditioner then i blow dry it, To eliminate poffines and frizz make sure that the nozzle is aiming striaght down on your hair. be sure to pull really tight whenever you are blowdryin, And use a round brush, the rounder the brush the straighter your hair will get, Oh yeah and this is just an option, i have matrixx root lifter that i put on my roots before i dry it, so it soesnt look like i have a flat head. its is a little expensive like around 14 dollars but it is an awesome product. ok after i blow dry my hair i use CHI iron guard to protect my hair from the heat then i section it off into 5 pieses and go through it with a flat iron. After its all striaght i take the 24/7 creme and rub it all through my hair. this product helps your hair stay straight all day long, i even keep it in my purse for touchups. then to finish it off i just use some hairspray in my hair. I know this sounds like alot of work but its really nore. when i usually do this process i wont wash my hair till the day after. your hair will stay striaght the next day you may just have to flatiron like your ends. i hope this works for you =] let me know.

Im glad i can help
